School Presence spent a day with the wonderful Preps at St Joseph’s Primary School Springvale, capturing a special video to help future families picture life in Prep.

A Prep story told by the students themselves

The video is a Prep parent social story, designed to guide prospective families through a typical school day from a child’s perspective.

We began by recording the Prep students narrating the script themselves. Their voices bring warmth and personality to the story, giving families a chance to hear directly from the children experiencing Prep each day.

It was a lovely start to a busy day of filming.

Capturing the little moments that matter

From there, we followed the Preps throughout their day, capturing the routines, learning and fun that make up life at St Joseph’s.

These everyday moments help answer a question many prospective parents have: “What will my child’s day actually look like?”

A video like this gives families a window into the school experience. It helps them picture their child taking part, becoming familiar with routines and finding their place in the classroom.

A big day for little learners

By the 3:15 pm pick-up, our team was ready for a rest!

Spending a full day alongside the Preps gave us a fresh appreciation for how much children fit into one

school day, and the care, energy and work their teachers put into supporting them.
